A few busy weeks

After a fun couple of weeks I thought I'd share some of my favorite images (other than Gasparilla).

 Teresa Giammarino, of Ozona, and Jay Hoover, of Tampa, swing dance to live music at the bandstand during Localtopia on Saturday February 7th, 2015 at Williams Park in Downtown St. Pete. Localtopia, a "community celebration of all things local", featured over 100 St. Pete vendors as well as a craft beer garden, live music, and activities for kids. The 2nd annual festival was held by Keep St. Petersburg Local, an advocacy group and independent business alliance.

 Hillsborough County Sheriffs deputies (left to right) Eric King and John Footman patrol the midway at the Florida State Fair on Friday February 6th, 2015. The Florida State Fair increased the number of deputies and other law enforcement personnel after last years "wilding" event the prompted the HSCO commander on scene to shut down the Fair for fear of public safety.

The wooden roller coast, Gwazi, had its last run at Busch Gardens on Sunday February 1st, 2015. Gwazi opened in 1999. Future plans for the space have not been released yet.

 (left to right) Stav Friedman, 25, and Rafael Taveras collect leftover Gasparilla trash near the Davis Islands bridges on Sunday. Friedman is an aquarium volunteer and a Marine Biology student at USF. Volunteers from the Florida Aquarium and other organizations participated in the 5th annual day after Gasparilla clean up on Sunday February 1st, 2015. The volunteers worked in zones along the parade route and the surrounding areas. They identified and tallied what they collected to keep track of the trash data.

 Family of Austin Demauro hang a tapestry given to the family from the Gee and Sorenson Funeral Home. Classmates, friends and family of  15-year-old Austin Demauro attended a memorial for him on Sunday February 8th, 2015 at Fossil Park in St. Petersburg. Demauro died last week while "skitching" when he fell off his skateboard and hit his head.

 Two members of Bonefish Grill's founding team opened Noble Crust at 8300 Fourth Street North in St. Petersburg. The 160-seat restaurant opened in the middle of January. (Bottom left) The sweet potato ravioli at Noble Pizza has sage, brown butter, and pecans.  (Bottom right)  The Cedar Key Pizza at Noble Crust features clams, bacon, pickled cherry peppers, oregano, and lemon. Shot on Wednesday February 4th, 2015.
